Mobile Crisis Rapid Response Team (MCRRT)

MCRRT members are First Responders consisting of mental health professionals and dedicated uniformed police officers in a marked police cruiser.  This team can respond to 911 calls for people in crisis, from 10:00 am until 1:00 am daily. Expert mental health assessment and support can get to a person in crisis within minutes.

The public cannot request MCRRT.  The team is dispatched by Police Services as needed.  When an emergency call for someone in emotional crisis is received at 911, MCRRT may respond if they are available.

MCRRT teams are on the road in the City of Hamilton and in the Halton Region (Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Halton Hills areas).

Please don’t hesitate to call 911 if any person, including a person in mental health distress, is at immediate risk of serious harm.  Police can arrive quickly with the primary goal of keeping everyone safe.  Also, many officers with Hamilton and Halton Police Services have special mental health training.
